Colour me Green. Not.

Green colour symbolises prosperity in most cases. It also is associated with a negative feeling, ENVY.

Dictionary defines Envy as, “resentment which “occurs when someone lacks another’s quality, achievement or possession and wishes that the other lacked it”

green-with-envy

This is the reason why it is considered bad  for widows to attend any wedding functions & a childless woman to attend any baby shower functions. It is assumed that they would envy & grudge the other person of their husband / child & harm would come to their joyous life.

But is it true always? I feel it is gross injustice. I might not be married or not have a child. I might not have the success / money my cousins / relatives have. But that does not mean I am discontented with my life & envy their success in whatever part of their life.

I love them enough to be happy in their happiness. I love myself enough to be happy with my life.

Where there is love, there is no envy. Colour me Red. Not Green.

The Anchor of Friendship!

I love my friends..

For they remained with me when I was down..

Cheered me up, be it with one special word or hours of chatting though it hurt their fingers…

Told me I am a good egg when I thought I am bit cracked

Never made me feel like a fool which I had been..

And made me smile and laugh again!!!

U know who you are and I cherish our friendship and am grateful for it from the bottom of my heart!

2011 taught me..

2011 by far was the most eventful year for me in recent times.. It taught me some valuable lessons.

2011 taught me:

1. Fractures are really painful and it is not about cool casts..

2. Valentine’s Day is about love..Give some to yourself too..

3. Birthdays are special when people you love make them special for you..

4. When you are friends, there are no labels..brothers, sisters, cousins, online friends, blog friends, train friends.. Friends are Friends.. And it is always good to meet them..

5. Some months would be exciting..but some months would be just plain routine..

6. Social Networking sites are not only for time pass.. It is also a good platform for networking and make good friends.. and also learn new things..

7. Some people enter our life from nowhere and change your world for better..life would be incomplete without such people…

8. When your bond is strong with someone, it can never break with distance and you can catch up where you left whenever you meet..

9. When you are facing a rough patch in your life, there would be friends who would be your support system & make you laugh even if you don’t want to smile..

10. And most important to have faith in God. Even if no miracle happens, praying definitely calms your mind..

11. It is life..not bed of roses always..you will get hurt..accept that..

12. Some memories are very precious..which are never to be shared with anyone. They are tagged in your heart forever

13. Don’t be serious always. Some craziness is required to remain sane. And it is necessary to have friends understand that craziness..

14. Most important never to lose your enthusiasm & hope..

15. Smile. It brightens your day as well as day of people around you..

16. Don’t wait for something special to happen to you – Go & Make it Happen!!!

Khichadi!! Khaanewali nahin dekhnewali..

Jaise khichadi banti hai daal aur chawal ke adbhut sangam se aur khayi jaati hai chaar yar (ghee, dahi, papad aur achaar) ke saath, waise hi ye khichadi bani hai kucchh adbhut namunon ke saath..

Is khichadi ke mukhya patra:

Babuji: parivaar ke mukhiya – khaddos, kanjoos aur gussail..inka kaam hai sab pe chillana aur unka fav dialogue ha, jayashree chai bana rahi ho ya bahar se mangvaun??

Jayashree bhabhi: gossip ki maharani..jab garma garam gossip ho bantne ke liye to chai banae ki sudh kise rahe??

Prafull bhaiyya: babuji ke gadhe oops do number ke bete..inke dimaag ko sirf wo samajh sakte hain ya unki dharampatni..

Hansa bhabhi: prafull ki better half..inka pura waqt saaj singaar mein guzar jaata hai..waise angreji kamzor hai par prafull bhaiyya unki kami poori kar dete hain!

Bhaveshkumar: ghar janvai urf bhukkadkumar..unka ek hi mantra hai..pura din munh chalna chahiye khaane ke liye..

Himanshu: hansa ke judvaa bhai..dimaag se..khaana acchha banate hain magar..

Parminder: ek aisi anokhi family se belong karte hain jahan sabke naam parminder hain..

Coz you are not here anymore..

There was one day when you were so near, near like a heart beat..

You could listen to the silence in my voice..

You could see the sadness in my laughter..

You could feel the love in my heart..

Now you have gone far..so far away..

You can’t listen to the sadness in my voice..

You can’t see tears rolling down my cheeks..

You can’t feel the sighs of my heart..

Why O Why We had to be apart???

Twilight!

Dusk & Dawn are two beautiful moments of the day..

The sky is not completely dark nor completely lit up..

It is somewhere in between..still it is not same everyday..

There are so many different hues to it..

Its pink sometimes, sometimes its orange..

It looks like spitting fire sometimes and

sometimes it is soothing blue as if holding water in its arms!

Why it didn’t work out?

People say that when someone or something goes out of our life, we should let it go..

It means something better awaits us..

Isn’t it basking in superiority complex? Who knows who deserves what?

Who knows what was taken from us was the best or not?

Don’t think something better awaits..

Because what happened at that moment was the best that happened to you!

Know that what did not happen was only because it was not meant to happen!!

Why this Kolaveri Kolaveri Di?

Why this test match-u test match-u test match-u di??

5 days waste-u waste-u..

20-20 nice-u..

This song is for cheerleaders-u..

We don’t have choice-u..

This was my feeble attempt to make a parody of Kolaveri Di, which was a rage in 2011. This was inspired by a Ranji match I witnessed in none other than the Eden Gardens stadium, Kolkata. 🙂

I have Faith in You!

There comes a point in your life where you are not sure of your abilities,

You have doubts if you will be able to complete the task which lies ahead of you..

At these times faith helps..not only yours but of someone close to you

who has faith in your abilities more than you have in yourself..

This person inspires you, pushes you, motivates you..

Nothing is impossible then!

Predicting Future!

Most of us love to read our horoscopes, to visit astrologers, to know what’s in store for us, what’s our life going to be like.

But is it worthwhile to know that?

If we could predict our life there would be no anxiety, no enthusiasm, no apprehensions, no surprises, no drama..

In short it would be so boring!

I have my dreams but I don’t want a guarantee of them being fulfilled..the journey is much more enjoyable then, isn’t it?

Men can cry!

When was it decided that men need to be practical & not share their emotions?

No one likes a cry baby but isn’t it ok once in a while to say what u “feel” rather than what u “think”???

Dear Men, it is ok to cry, it is ok to show your feelings once in a while. It won’t hurt your macho image.

In fact, it will generate more respect for you 🙂

Kick the Bucket List

Walking on the streets of Paris!

Travelling through the countryside of Europe!

Wheeing on the Roller Coaster in Disneyland!

Reading all the books in the world!

Watching Movies!

Watching all seasons of all the favourite shows!

So on & So forth..

Yes, Once I too had a bucket list..

The list was never ending & ever increasing.

But while ticking off some of the items in the list, I realised they were no longer wishes.. they had become items!

I kicked the bucket then & let my wishes fly wishing them to stay safe till we cross paths.

Each day I am closer to all my wishes. Once in a while one of the wish meets me on this journey of life. And life becomes more beautiful & meaningful <3

Apples and Oranges

We have heard this quote numerous times “Don’t compare yourself to others”

Just read an addition to this quote “Don’t compare yourself with others just compare your past self with your present self”

That quote made me think. How can I compare my past self with my current self? They both are different people. The knowledge I have now, I didn’t have back then. The innocence I had then, I don’t have now. My past self & my present self are two different beings. I can not say I am better than my past self now. I might have improved in some aspects but I also have let go of some of my better qualities.

So I would say, save yourself the agony. Don’t compare at all. Not with others, Not with your self. Just Be Yourself.

Don't compare yourself to others quote

Freedom From Fear!

Accusing Eyes. Questioning Eyes. She saw none of them. She kept staring at the ceiling above.
Accusing Voices. Questioning voices. She heard none of them. She was lost in her thoughts. Thoughts of the one she had liberated. Liberated from the fear of being molested. Liberated from the fear of being a burden on her parents. Liberated from the fear of being tortured for dowry. Liberated from the fear of being burnt to death.
In turn, she had also liberated herself. Liberated from the fear of being tortured for giving birth to another baby girl.
Years later she was still staring at the ceiling. The delayed shock of strangling her baby had driven her crazy. Nothing had changed for her though except the setting – from the Maternity Ward to the Mental Asylum.

Hope Rekindled!

It had been two years since he was working in this roadside eatery. His dream of becoming an international chef was dimming day by day but seeing smiling faces of his humble customers did give him a sense of satisfaction.. As he stood there mulling, he saw a man all drenched running towards the dhaba…he started rolling rotis for him.

It was raining cats & dogs. On top of it his car broke down in the middle of the highway.

Famished & tired, he looked around & saw a light some distance away. He ran towards it hoping for food & shelter. He sat on one of the benches & was promptly served hot rotis & subzi. As he put the first morsel in his mouth, he was astonished! Was the food really tasty or was it the hunger? After eating to his heart’s satisfaction, he went inside for a light & enquired about the cook.

The cook, he came to know, had run away from home because of his passion for food. He had got shelter & a job here.

He went up to the cook & asked him if he would like to work alongside him in his restaurant in Delhi.

The cook’s eyes lighted up… a reflection of rekindled hope in his heart!

The Great Escape!

Arrgh!!! Not another rejection! She exclaimed when her mom told her about an impending visit from the “Ladke wale”. Her mom chided her! How do you know it would be rejection? She couldn’t reply but her previous experiences did not allow her to hope otherwise! Either the guys would reject her or his parents. Apparently a fat girl couldn’t do household work as per the parents.

She wondered how they do it then ‘coz there was no difference between her & her could be mother in law’s size 😉

This time was a bit different. The guy’s family had come to “see” her without the guy. Apparently they liked her ‘coz next time some other family members turned up & even though she had been in her nightie, cooking chapattis, covered in sweat, they fixed a final meeting with the guy.  Their only demand was that the girl dress up in saree.

Her hopes revived & she started dreaming of engagement & wedding ceremonies & the likes! And the D Day arrived. She was looking quite pretty in her mom’s saree, decked up in make-up & jewellery.

There were atleast 7-8 guests. When everyone settled in their tiny home, entered the “boy” He sat on the empty cot & occupied 3/4th of it. She was shocked but didn’t express it. Her dream of a Mills & Boons hero rescuing her from the pits of singledom crashed cruelly 😉

Atleast let me see how he is as a person, she thought. After a round of tea & small talks, the girl & boy were sent to the neighbour’s vacant home to know more about each other, as is the custom.

He seemed shy & kept wiping his sweat with a face towel he was carrying. She started the conversation as he seemed reluctant to talk & kept looking at his watch. He was not very educated. He was running a small family business & content with whatever he was doing. She kept on unchecking the qualities she was looking for her life partner. Thoroughly disappointed she asked him a last question. What does marriage mean to you? He said Marriage means there should not be any quarrels between daughter in law & mother in law. After I come home there should be peace! She couldn’t believe his answer! Nothing more left to ask, they came to her house.

After the guests left, she told her parents there is no way she was going to marry him! Her family pressurized to say yes to the alliance as no one else was ready to marry her. Four days she spent in agony praying for some miracle. The meeting happened on Sunday, the guy’s mother called on Thursday with their reply.

The guy had rejected her! For being Fat! Though it was funny how a guy double her size rejected her for being fat, she was happy coz she had just escaped being married to a mediocre man!

The Guturgoo Game

What’s a Gutargooo?

Ans.: License to ask stupid questions with serious intensity to terrify twelebs & gain fame.

Example 1:

Guturgoo: Do you think your incapability of tweeting something on your own makes you harass a psycho-analyst?

Bhokali: Yes I do, because I don’t know what to do. :B

Guturgoo:  Don’t you think a tweet from someone whose follower count doesn’t justify his no of tweets is harassment?

Bhokali: offo next koschan, next koschan!!! 😐

Guturgoo: What makes you so scared of questions? Is the root reason your failure to cope with exams?

Bhokali: Eh bien! No it is because my toothpaste doesn’t contain salt. 🙁

Guturgoo: Why do you need salt in toothpaste? Do you worship Asuras? Are you south indian?

Bhokali: I worship , chhaddo ji, sharm aawe hain naam lene mein :”>

Guturgoo: Why are you afraid of speaking the truth? Did someone tell you Harry Potter is a myth?

Bhokali: HARRY POTTER IS NOT A MYTH YOU MUGGLE! :'< (Guturgoo has found his weakness)

Guturgoo: Don’t you think you should introspect & analyse why you are delusional?

Bhokali: Nayh, kaun kare itna kaam! 😛

Guturgoo: Do you think being lazy will make you invisible from society?

Bhokali: No, on the contrary, it will make me phamuss in the society! B-)

Guturgoo: Is your ambition to be famous in society a revenge of neglect you faced in childhood?

Bhokali: On the contrary, I was paid a lot of attention during my childhood, which makes me keep expecting the same now too! 😀

Guturgoo: Are you desperately trying to thwart every coherent attempt that unmasks the darkness of your childhood you don’t want anyone to know?

*Bhokali faints*

Example 2:

Guturgoo: Do you think that if you act cute you will be accepted by society?

Bhokali: Why, was that not the social protocol of acceptance ? 😐

Guturgoo: Don’t you think you are delusional?

Bhokali: No I am not :3

Guturgoo: Don’t you think that by saying that you have proved you are delusional?

Bhokali: Being delusional and accepting the fact are two different things. I don’t accept I am delusional. Movies nhi dekhti kya :3

Guturgoo: Another proof that you are delusional. Do you know how many movies are funded by Islam Mafia?

Bhokali: No I don’t know , you tell me na? :’9

Guturgoo: Do you use weird smileys because they resemble your face?

Bhokali: You answer my koschan first. :B

Guturgoo: Your improper use of English reflects that your parents didn’t like you and so didn’t send you to school.

*Bhokali eating Roshogulla to calm himself*

And one more bites the dust! She gets a Sikka from her purse & puts it in the piggy bank & laughs wildly!!!

Django Unchained – Unchaining the shackles of mind!

A black man carried like cattle with chained feet & bare back doesn’t sound like a movie hero. But 10 minutes after the movie & you know he is no ordinary slave! The premise may seem very ordinary, almost a bollywood romantic movie. A man freed from slavery by a man with selfish interests, helps him find his lady love, another slave. The climax is predictable as well. But what is not predictable is the way Tarantino tells the story through extraordinary characters played by brilliant actors!

The slave is not an ordinary submissive African as Calvin Candie (who enslaves Django’s lady love Hildi) thinks he should be. The man who frees Django is a dentist turned Bounty Hunter who needs Django to identify his targets. He kills mercilessly but he is also compassionate. This compassion leads him to help Django find his love. Her name is an added incentive to help Django.

Calvin Candie is again a multi layered personality. He is as charming as he is brutal. He is as intelligent as he is insensitive.

Stephen, Calvin’s care taker is a black man himself but is blind to the atrocities to his folks & blindly loyal to Calvin.

Broomhilda (aka Hildi) is a feisty girl. Girl who, as Dr Schultz says, inspires passion.

Also different is the way the film is shot. The early nineteenth century atmosphere is well replicated in the form of locales, costumes & dialogues. And when characters kill each other? They don’t just clutch their chest & collapse! The blood doesn’t flow, it explodes & the dead bodies just fly around. Just look at the way Lara Lee is shot!

The story might not have been a true one but it certainly was gripping! Some of the scenes were not for the fainthearted for sure! Like one of the fighters being mauled by dogs! (Done nothing but aggravate my fear of dogs!) Christoph Waltz played the character of multiple personalities to the hilt! But the best actor definitely was Leo. The way he depicted the cruel plantation owner with such ease was amazing, outstanding, mind blowing 🙂 🙂 🙂

Jungle Jungle Baat Chali Hai..

Once upon a time they used to live in the jungle. Their home was surrounded with luscious green treas, with brooks playing hide n seek.

They had plenty of neighbours, of varied species. The air was healthy & there was no shortage of food.

Climbing_through_the_lush_forest_(6441606157)

Humans used to come to visit to enjoy the beauty & natural ruggedness. It would be fun to eat the food they brought with them. And more fun when they got scared.

But the humans were not to underestimate. In revenge, they brought Deforestation! They build homes & resorts for themselves with artificial pools. Gone were the luscious green trees. Instead they built large golf courses. Gone were most of the neighbours. They could not survive the change. The survivors got a new home! It was now called the Zoo!

Jungle Jungle Baat chali hai pata chala hai..

Jungle to ab Concrete ka ban gaya hai!!!

How near to the Third World War?

My childhood was spent in an area which faced acute water shortage. The water we got from the municipality would only be available for drinking & cooking purposes. For washing & other purposes, we had to get water from nearby wells / tube wells. And it was not possible to get water from these sources daily / frequently. Mom did all the rationing of the water. We bathed only once in two days, shampoo was obviously once a week. Clothes were also washed on alternate days. There was no question of playing holi. Just imagine how much water would be required to play & wash later! Guests coming at home would always be stressful for mom!

Now, the situation is not that bad. But the horrors of past have made us cautious while using water. People who get water 24*7 at their place will never understand this. One advise of playing Dry Holi & there is tremendous outrage!

“Are we going to send this water to drought stricken areas?”

“Playing Holi without water is like  celebrating tomatino without tomatoes” so on & so forth.

But stop & think. What if the water you saved by playing Dry Holi actually reached the Drought stricken areas.. Will you be willing to avoid using water to play holi? And Holi is supposed to be festival of colours. What is important Colour or Water?

Can we not empathise with our fellow citizens? Just imagine not being able to get drinking water for couple of hours, let alone for days..

No one is putting a ban on Fun. But can we have fun sensibly? Can we not waste water not only during holi, but even otherwise? If the consumption is less, won’t we able to share the water with the underprivileged ones?

Can we take a pledge on this World Water Day:

1. To get the leaking taps repaired as soon as noticed

2. To collect the water from AC & use it to water plants / wash cars

3. Cut down on leisurely showers / shaves

4. Not to let the water keep running while brushing teeth

5. Implement rainwater harvesting systems to collect rain water and use it in future

6. Use Minimum water when playing holi

Remember!!!

Might is Right!

Listening to my favourite music, I was walking down the lane towards my office.

The campus, one of a kind in Mumbai is filled with greenery & apart from the great variety of flora, there is also a huge variety of fauna. You can spot domesticated animals like cats & dogs along with the more exotic mongoose & chameleon. A rare sight in the commercial by-lanes of Mumbai.

As I was getting closer to the office, I saw a huge flock of crows hovering around the cars parked in the area.. Their constant crowing gave me goose bumps. I scanned the area with my eyes for a dead mouse & what I saw! A cat was hiding under the car with a dead pigeon in it’s mouth.

I was flummoxed! For a second I didn’t understand whether to feel pity for the pigeon or the cat!

Well, the pigeon was already dead and the cat looked like it would be killed if she ventured out of the car. The way the crows scared me, I could just imagine the cat’s fear! Waited for couple of minutes to see how I could help the poor cat..but feeling helpless against Nature’s Might, walked away! I just hope the cat survived somehow!

That Red Lipstick Girl..

Six months had gone by since their break up. This day would have been so different had he been with her. He had moved away from her life & so did celebrations. There would be no playing with the cake, no special treats & no gifts. This day would also be spent in melancholy & thinking about their time together.

Sometimes, it seemed like a dream. What else could be the explanation? They were so much in love & so happy together! Why would anyone want to leave then? Sighing, she opened her mail box to read all his letters.. These were the only proof that their love was real & not just a dream. She was deeply engrossed in one of his mails when her phone rang. It was her best friend calling to wish her a Happy Birthday.

Her bestie sensed her state of mind. That’s the good things about friends. You don’t have to speak to tell how you are feeling.  Her bestie convinced her to go out with her. It would be a good change she thought. While dressing up, she came across her red lipstick.. Her favourite colour, the colour of happiness for her. It was her quirk. Whenever she was happy she used to put on this red lipstick. Instinctively she picked up the lipstick & applied to her lips. She was not ready to be happy yet. But she wanted to show the world she was. Would save her from pity & questions which she was not ready to answer yet.

He was going through her profile on a Social Networking Site. It had been six months since he saw her. This time apart from her had made him realise how much he loved her. This was a test he had inflicted upon them. He wanted to be sure about their love. He couldn’t afford another heart break. He would now know if Absence had made the Heart grow fonder or was it a case of Out of Sight Out of Mind. His eyes stopped on one of the pics she was tagged in. The pic was taken yesterday on her birthday. His heart filled with love on seeing her smile but his eyes froze when he saw her red lipstick. Everyone knew she wore it when she was happy. He understood what that meant. She had moved on. With a heavy heart he blocked her. Never wanting to see her again.

Special Dates!

365 days in a year & 365 dates. Some are ordinary & some special. In the era of Social Media, these dates have garnered more interest & popularity.

In 2011 it was 09/10/11 then 11/11/11 and 20/11/2011, In 2012 10/11/12 & 20/12/2012 & In 2013 it will be 11/12/13

Some people wished to do something special on these days.

Some managed to make it special either co-incidentally or through extra efforts..

However, some remained cynical & tried to shrug off the special dates as “so what???”

For any special days, there always have been such cynics around.

I sometimes feel they are poor souls who have nothing to celebrate in their life or just want to turn up their noses against whatever is popular.

These cynics say why celebrate valentine’s day, mother’s day, etc., when you can make it special everyday.

I say, I agree we can make everyday special but do we strive to make any day as special?

Sometimes a person gets to feel special only because there is a pressure to make such days special else even that day would be taken as granted.

And as far as commercialism goes, you need not spend thousands of bucks to make any day special.

Make efforts in thinking of plans which don’t cost money. You might be surprised how happy that person can be with your small gestures rather than expensive gifts.

Remember the Best Gifts in life are free.

Go celebrate that special day with your special someone! <3

Birthday Everyday..

Shaina gave one last glance to everything – the house was decorated, the snacks & drinks were ready to be served, the cake was on the table with the cute teddy candles on it. The little guests were all excited & so was the birthday boy. She looked at him wistfully remembering the day he was born. How quick the kids grow, she thought! Only thing missing was the boy’s father, as usual stuck at work.

As the minutes ticked away, the kids got restless. There was no point in waiting any longer. She had to get the kids back to their home before 8. She asked Robbie to cut the cake. Robbie wanted to wait for his daddy but understood the appeal in his mom’s eyes. The birthday celebrations began with the cake cutting, playing games & ended up with the snacks & drinks being gorged on 🙂

Ray arrived just as she was cleaning up. She was ready to give him a showdown for his callous behaviour but she stopped herself. After all she had promised her son there would be no fights between mommy & daddy today, that’s the only birthday gift he wanted. She smiled at Ray and instead shared the happenings of the party. Ray was surprised but went with the flow. After many months, there was absolute peace in their household today.

Shaina went to Robbie’s room to check on him. She heard some sounds from inside the room. Curious, she quietly stood outside.

Robbie was saying, “God can I please have birthday everyday? Then Mom & Dad will never fight!!”

Theek Hai!!

During our independence struggle, our leaders gave some memorable quotes.. Quotes which gives us goosebumps even after 6 decades of getting independence..

Lokmanya Tilak: “Swaraj is my birthright & I shall have it”

Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose: “Tum mujhe khoon do main tumhe azaadi doonga”

Mahatma Gandhi: Angrezo Bharat Chhodo”

So on & so forth..

It is a pity that today’s leader is going to be remembered for “Theek Hai”

Why do men love gold diggers?

Being on twitter for more than a year, has opened my eyes. I get to learn so many new things everyday.

One thing I learnt is women only love money.. cash, jewelry, diamonds.. you name it she craves it..

While choosing a life partner money is the only thing on her mind & she marries the one who has the most moolah..

One thing however confused me.. It is true that a woman marries a man for money but why would a man want to marry such women? After all, Men being the paragons of virtue, would only fall for inner beauty & obviously gold diggers don’t have inner beauty..

Can anyone solve my confusion please?

Look before you…. Curse!!!

Sometimes a day starts on a bad note, nothing is working in order.. the alarm doesn’t go off, you are late for work, maid has not arrived, children are not well.. All this makes one frustrated.

This frustration is taken out on someone else.. someone who is weaker than us.. Husband takes it out on wife, Wife on children, Grown up children on parents, bosses on employees, so on & so forth..

The frustration is in the form of scoldings or curses.. Our bad day makes us wish that everyone who is troubling us have a bad day..

But Stop & Think, what if that person who is troubling us is already having a bad day?

The maid who has not turned up has been beaten up by her drunkard husband..

The auto driver who has refused to ply is troubled with arranging for the monthly loan installment..

The boss has had a big fight with his wife at home..

If we be kind to them, maybe we make their day easier & in turn ours too..

Everyone is fighting their own battles & everyone can do with some support..

Kindness & Compassion don’t cost anything but will earn you loads of gratitude.

Remember this the next time you are cursing someone & turn your curses into blessings 🙂 🙂 🙂

Happy World!!!

You say there is only one world but then you are someone who is brave & strong who doesn’t need to create a world within your world.

In the real world I am a mockery. I am not good looking, nor smart nor have any other talent. The only thing I have is lot of love & care for others. I don’t mind being that person but the real world does. They don’t want to be with anyone weak. They push me away. And I am left alone standing on the shores of life.

But do I let these people’s behaviour make me unhappy? No! I don’t want to be sad to be crying to be unhappy. There is enough gloom in the world already.

Hence I retreat in the world I have created for myself. Here there are only happy thoughts. I am alone but not lonely. My love for everything is my cocoon. Surrounded by love & happiness & not a single thought about anything painful. If you sit silently, you might hear the silent hush of the waves. The gentle breeze will caress you & heal you.

Just spending some time here will replenish me & make me ready once again to face the hardships of the world.

This is my sweet humble and a very happy world!

A New Beginning!

She was seething with anger. Anger towards her life & her helplessness. Anger fuelled her pace. She was unaware of leering glances of strangers. She had only her destination in mind – the sea. The one which had calmed her all her life, was going to give her the ultimate peace. She was taken aback by the Beach Patrol driving around the beach. Hesitatingly she decided to wait for them to go away.

Suddenly a constable came & started scolding her for being at such a dangerous place at midnight. A woman staying under the bridge had sensed her purpose & called the constable from the nearby police chowky. “What would be the result if some goons kidnapped you & sold you to a brothel?” he asked? Petrified, she started crying & poured her life story.

This mellowed the constable. He tried to calm her by offering water & the best piece of advice anyone had given her. He said, “God has given purpose to every life. Think of the unfortunate who are thirsting for love. Look at the orphanages, the old age home, the street urchins. Find your purpose in them”

Now, 25 years later, she looked back at that incident with happy tears. She was now the principal of the school run by the orphanage & always surrounded by lovely children. The End had turned into a Beautiful Beginning!!!

Love in the time of Facebook ♥

She was a die-hard romantic, looking for signs which would lead her to her soul mate. He was a lonely man, looking for love. One day, she got a friend request from him. She checked his profile. There were no mutual friends but there were some mutual page likes. In one of the mutually liked page, the recent activity was, liking a post “Single & Ready to Mingle”.

He liked the post “Single & Ready to Mingle” on one of the Facebook page. Out of curiosity, he checked who else had liked the post. His eyes stopped at one pic. He just couldn’t wait to know more about her. He sent her Friend Request.

She accepted it. This was the beginning of a new fairy tale.

A Dish Best Served Cold..

His Facebook status update showed he was in her city. That city which had seen their friendship blossoming into love. That city which had also seen betrayal killing their love. That city which had been the graveyard of memories, broken promises & tears. Time had passed but healed nothing. She was still carrying the shards of her broken dreams. But this news made her eyes glint & put a spring in her step. She would see him. Surely he wouldn’t deny. After all he was the one who wanted to remain “friends”.

She called him up. After some small talk, with apprehension, she invited him for dinner. He wanted to take her out but she insisted on cooking for him. It did not take much insistence as he always was fan of her cooking skills. And the day arrived. The table was laid with all his favourite dishes. The dinner was peppered with conversations & reminiscences. It was an evening to remember! Finally she got his favourite dish out, Butterscotch Icecream, topped with loads of chocolate sauce. It was a joy to see him relish the ice cream. This is how she wanted him to remember. This is how she wanted them to stay forever.

Next day, the local newspaper lay at her doorstep. The headlines screamed. A couple found dead in a flat. Half eaten ice cream dishes found on the dining table. Police are investigating whether it is a case of Suicide or Murder.

New Year Resolutions!

Come 1st January & the air is full with new year wishes, party spirit & wait for it – New Year Resolutions!!!

Though cynics try to mar the spirit by saying that why wait for new year? If you want to better your life, any day is good..These are the ones who say why celebrate special days..they are as good as any other day.. I believe that beginning of new year symbolises turning a new leaf & is a great day to start something new in your life..of course how much you stick to your resolution is directly proportional to how committed you are & you need to be like Salman Khan if you want to keep your New Year Resolution 😉

And now one month down the line, there are chances your commitment be fading a little. You might not see the results you wanted to which has made you bit disappointed. But Fear Not!!! This is the time to introspect, why you made that resolution.. Take a look at the goal you want to achieve. Realise how much you have progressed in this one month! You just have a little bit more to go..Stay Strong! Stay Focused! All The Best!!!

What is my future?

You have to make the right choice. As long as you don’t choose, everything remains possible..

Any of the choices you make is the right one! Every path is the right path. Everything could have been anything else and it would have just as much meaning.

Each & Every day of our life we have so many choices to make..Right from what time to get up, to what breakfast do we have, what do we wear to work, what kind of attitude I wear today, what profession to choose, to whom should we marry, where should we live, etc.. Life sometimes feels a plethora of choices..And even after making a choice, we deliberate..did we make the right one???

Nevertheless we go on with our choices only sometimes stopping by to reflect what if we had taken a different path???

Today, I realised whatever path I would have chosen would have been the right one..Till the time I did not choose, the possibilities were endless but once I have chosen, whatever it may be, is the right path for me!

Did I read any self help book? or did I meet any spiritual guru???

I just saw an amazingly incredible movie “Mr. Nobody”!!!

Is it Science Fiction? or a Drama? or a Love Story? or is it a Spiritual Journey???

It is all of these bundled into one!

Breathtaking plot, incredible direction, mindblowing performances, thought provoking quotes, some gyaan on science..this movie has it all!

My most favourite part of the movie though is the Love Story of Anna & Nemo..A Love so passionate yet so pure…Diane Kruger is officially now one of my favourite actresses..The way she portrays Anna’s love, passion & helplessness really touched a chord of my heart!!!

Choices alter our life forever..choose to watch this movie..you will surely be altered for better 🙂

I Wish…

This is one of my favourite stories, “Dinner was being served on one of the most luxurious cruise liner in the world. Everyone was enjoying the delicacies. For dessert, there was a scrumptious chocolate pastry. A lady travelling on the liner was on diet & didn’t have dessert. Later in the night, the weather changed suddenly & there was a heavy storm at sea. Waves attacked the ship from all sides & created havoc. The ship couldn’t survive the storm & went down under. All the passengers in the ship drowned along with the ship. Some one had their loved ones on their mind, some were seen praying. The lady, who refused dessert, was thinking, “If I knew that was the last meal I was having, I would have never said no to that chocolate pastry”

Watching what we eat is a big part of losing weight, but in that process if you sacrifice what you love to eat, you will never enjoy your diet. This applies to almost all things in life. For achieving something, we sacrifice something else. Make sure you are not sacrificing something which you will regret later in your life.

Three Cheers!

Heartbreak,

Loneliness,

Death,

Disease,

Poverty,

Humiliation,

Separation,

Injustice,

This & many more are reasons to crush our mind, spirit & body.

But we all have faced them. Alone or sometimes with support.

People around us may not have noticed. They might not appreciate. But one person can.

For all the battles we have fought, for all the doubts that we have overcome, for all the steps we have climbed,

Let us pat our back!! Yes, the clouds have passed. Let us celebrate the sun shine.

Three Cheers to You! You! And You!!!
